Africa Ethiopian, Eritrean leaders agree to boost for regional peace,devt cooperation
Horndiplomat-Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, arrived in Asmara in mid-morning hours today for a two-day working visit.
President Isaias Afwerki accorded warm welcome to the Prime Minister and his delegation on their arrival at Asmara’s International Airport.
According to Eritrean Information Minister Yemane G. Meskel, Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki and Ethiopian Prime minister Abiy Ahmed met at State House today for extensive talks on further deepening the ongoing vibrant peace process and all-rounded cooperation between the two countries on the basis of the five-point Joint Declaration of Peace and Friendship of 9 July 2018 .
The two leaders further agreed to broaden the positive ramifications of the peace process and robust cooperation underway to the Horn. Accompanied by President Isaias, PM Abiy and his entourage visited several development projects and construction work on the Nefasit-Decamhare highway .
The Ethiopian delegation includes Finance Minister Ahmed Shide and other government officials.
