Somalia, Kenya Agree to Restore Diplomatic Relations

Horndiplomat-Amid frosty relations resulting from maritime dispute, the leaders of Somalia Mohamed Abdilahi Farmajo  and Kenya Uhuru kenyatta met in New York for the first time since March .

The Two leaders agreed to restore relations to previous status and take diplomatic steps to build confidence between the two governments and people.

According to Senior Journalist Harun Maruf, Somalia has insisted that the maritime case be left to the International court  of Justice for final arbitration.

The two countries agreed to form a joint committee to work on improving relations. The leaders met in the company of current AU chairman Abdelfattah El-Sisi.
