Minerals and Energy Minister of Somaliland Jama Mohamoud Egal, is in the south Africa for a four-day visit. His visit aims to mend relations with the South African government as currently, the people of Somaliland are unable to do business with nor travel to the country. The relations between these two countries came to an abrupt end in 2012 and since then, relations on diplomatic and other levels have been strained.
