AU delegation led by former South African President Thabo Mbeki arrives Mogadishu
Mogadishu, July 20, 2019 -Former South Africa President  Thabo Mbeki leading a high commissioner of the African Union was highly welcomed by the Somalia Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Ahmed Hassan Awad, Somalia representative to the UN Secretary-General, James Swan, the African Union Mission in Somalia, Ambassador Francisco Madeira and other officials from the federal government of Somalia at Adan Adde International airport in Mogadishu.

According to the schedule, both Somalia President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed “Farmaajo” and Deputy Prime Minister  Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid (Khadar) will meet with the AU team at two different meetings.
The visit of the AUHIP delegation will take two days (July 20-22), where they will hold several consultative meetings with Somali civil society, IGAD, AMISOM and UNSOM.
