Hargeisa — Responding to an urgent appeal from the National Drought Committee, the Turkish Consulate General in Hargeisa, in partnership with AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority) and in coordination with NADFOR, carried out a humanitarian operation to support families severely impacted by drought in Marodijeeh.
A total of 420 households received food packages as part of this emergency relief effort. The initiative was led by the Consul General of the Turkish Consulate General in Hargeisa, Mr. Ozan PEKIN, which underscored Türkiye’s strong commitment to humanitarian solidarity with Somaliland.

Officials from NADFOR were also present during the operation, ensuring effective coordination and transparency in the delivery of aid. Their involvement reinforced the collaborative nature of the initiative, bringing together international partners and national institutions to provide timely assistance to vulnerable communities.
This joint effort reflects Türkiye’s ongoing dedication to supporting Somaliland during times of crisis and demonstrates how coordinated action can help alleviate the hardships faced by families affected by drought.
