Horndiplomat-MP Mohamed Ahmed Dhakool has been released today after 40 days in prison.
Hargeisa Regional court has refused the arrest of Mp Dhakool and the parliament rejected to remove immunity.
On May 10, Somaliland police have detained after a controversial press conference held by MP Mohamed Ahmed Dhakool. He questioned the the commemoration of 18th May as the National Independence Day.
The MP proposed that the correct Independence Day of Somaliland is June 26. On that day in 1960, Somaliland gained independence from the British colonial.
Mr. Dhakool claimed that May 18 is not an independence day and its history did not belong to all Somalilanders.
