HARGEISA — Somaliland’s Civil Service Commission has announced the successful candidates in a recruitment drive for 768 government positions, concluding a competitive examination process held across six regions.
The commission published lists of successful candidates for Grade A and Grade B positions in Maroodi-jeex, Togdheer, Awdal, Saaxil, Sanaag and Sool. The results documents are dated October 27, following examinations held simultaneously at designated centres on October 12.
Commission Chairman Abdiaziz Hersi Warsame said the recruitment programme had been completed successfully, congratulating those selected and encouraging unsuccessful applicants to pursue future opportunities.
“This was not an easy competition,” Warsame said in a statement. “You have secured a hard-earned opportunity through knowledge, effort and trust in Allah .”
The published lists identify successful candidates by name, application number, examination code, field of study and score. The fields covered include health sciences, business administration, economics and social sciences, accounting and finance, computing and information technology, engineering, education, and Sharia and law.
Warsame said the recruitment process involved applications through the commission’s online jobs portal, shortlisting, examination preparation, printing and packaging, secure handling of examination materials, candidate identity checks, examination administration, marking and publication of results.
Commission members, the director general, staff, specialists from public universities and independent experts contributed to the programme, he said.
He thanked those involved for protecting information entrusted to them and working extended hours to complete the recruitment exercise.
“Consultation, regular discussions and dedication to national service enabled us to carry out this work,” Warsame said.
The results follow examinations held simultaneously across six regions at 10 a.m. on October 12. In its statement issued that day, the commission said teams had worked continuously during the preceding 72 hours to prepare for the tests.
Public university leaders helped coordinate the exercise, while the interior ministry, regional governors and police supported security and the orderly conduct of examinations, the commission said.
Warsame described the programme as an effort to strengthen recruitment based on ability, knowledge and experience, saying transparent competition could help qualified candidates contribute to Somaliland’s development.
He argued that successive administrations had weakened fair competition for government employment and said the latest recruitment programme had helped restore confidence in the process.
The chairman credited President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi with initiating and firmly supporting the programme. He recalled the president’s message urging applicants to trust their abilities and the examination results they achieved.
Warsame also encouraged candidates who were not selected to continue preparing for other opportunities.
“You made an effort, and, Insha’Allah, you will succeed in other opportunities,” he said.
