These Editorial Guidelines set out the standards and principles that guide all reporting, editing and publishing at HornDiplomat Media Group. They exist to protect the integrity, independence and quality of our journalism.

1. Accuracy

All information must be verified before publication. We rely on credible sources, official documents, expert input and first-hand reporting to ensure our stories are accurate and complete.

2. Fairness & Balance

Our coverage aims to provide balanced perspectives, particularly on political and sensitive issues. Where possible, we reflect relevant viewpoints and give those criticized an opportunity to respond. Opinion and analysis pieces are clearly labelled and separated from straight news reporting.

3. Source Transparency

We clearly identify our sources unless anonymity is necessary for safety, security or strong public-interest reasons. The use of anonymous sources requires editor approval and is limited to information that is credible and verifiable.

4. Editorial Independence

No political party, government, business or external actor dictates our editorial decisions. We do not accept payment, gifts or favours in exchange for coverage or to suppress information that is in the public interest.

5. Separation of News & Opinion

News articles present facts and verified developments. Opinion, commentary and analysis pieces are clearly labelled as such and reflect the views of the author, not necessarily the editorial position of HornDiplomat.

6. Ethical Reporting

We avoid hate speech, incitement and discrimination on the basis of clan, ethnicity, religion, gender or other identity. We protect vulnerable groups, respect privacy and avoid publishing graphic content unless there is a compelling public-interest reason and sufficient warning to readers.

7. AI Usage

HornDiplomat does not publish AI-generated news articles. AI tools may be used internally for tasks such as research assistance, translation or formatting, but all published content is written, edited and verified by human journalists.

8. Corrections & Accountability

When errors occur, we correct them promptly and transparently following our published Corrections & Amendments Policy. Readers are encouraged to contact us with concerns about accuracy or fairness.
