Somaliland Deports Nine UAE Nationals accused of illegal

Horndiplomat- Somaliland government has deported nine UAE nationals from the country. Horndiplomat reports

According to the Somalilandstandard, they were deported back to their country after completing days in police custody and having paid a fine levied upon them for breaching the country”s laws.

The 9 UAE nationals have paid 10, 000 US dollars that have been imposed upon them as harsh fine for being involved the illegal poaching of country;’s wildlife which is facing an extinction threat from illegal hunting.

On November 26, 2019, the Somaliland government arrested Emirati men accused of illegal hunting as they attempted to fly out.

The Director of Wildlife, Abdinasir Hussain confirmed to the local media that the Emirati nationals were arrested at an airport and waiting to be brought to a court of law.
