Czech Republic Vows to strengthen Comprehensive Relations with Ethiopia

Ethiopian Foreign Affairs Minister,  Mr. Gedu Andargachew receives the Czech Republic Foreign Affairs Minister Tomáš Petříček today (November 13).

Mr. Tomáš Petříček arrives in Addis Ababa for an official working visit to Ethiopia.

The two sides exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral issues of common interest.

Mr. Gedu commended the Czech Foreign Minister for visiting Ethiopia leading Czech Republic’s business delegation.

Mr. Gedu also applauded the support Czech Republic is extending to Ethiopia in the European Union.

Highlighting the political and economic reform Ethiopia is undertaking, Mr. Gedu reaffirmed Ethiopia will take all the necessary endeavors for the success of Czech investments in Ethiopia.

Mr. Tomáš Petříček on his part commended the ongoing reform in Ethiopia and the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to Dr. Abiy.

Explaining his government’s above three decades experience in helping private investments flourish, the Czech Foreign Minister said his country is ready to share this experience with Ethiopia.

“Ethiopia is one of the two countries in Africa that the Czech Republic has selected for building strategic partnership,” said Mr. Tomáš Petříček and he vowed to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

According to Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, The Czech Foreign Minister also said the two countries can further build strong ties collaborating in education, agriculture and transport sectors.

Ethiopia and Czech Republic established diplomatic relations in the late 1940s.
