IGAD heads of states arrive in Addis Ababa to attend “Beautification of Addis”

Horndiplomat-ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed welcomed leaders of IGAD member states, President Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda; President Uhuru Kenyatta of the Republic of Kenya, President Salva Kiir of the Republic of South Sudan; President Mohammed Abdulahi Mohammed of the Federal Republic of Somalia; Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok of the Republic of Sudan and Nabil Mohamed Ahmed, Head of Delegation of the Republic of Djibouti, who are visiting Ethiopia for the inauguration of Unity Park within the Grand National Palace.

The ‘Unity Park’, which is a manifestation of the MEDEMER (synergy) idea, will be inaugurated this afternoon.

“Unity Park symbolizes our ability to come together for a common goal and cross the finish line by creating exquisite lasting prints of our collective worth,” said the office of the Ethiopian Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, the leaders will agree on a date for the next ordinary meeting likely to be hosted by Kenya, and at which Kenya will take over the chairmanship of IGAD.
