Ethiopia PM Appoints Chief of Staff of the National Defense Force

Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed announced the appointment of top military officers effective from today, June 28, 2019.

Accordingto PM Office , he appointed General Adem Mohammed as Chief of Staff of the National Defense Force.

General Adem replaces General Seare Mekonnen, who was killed by his bodyguard last Saturday, June 22, 2019.

General Adem was Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS).

Similarly, Lieutenant General Mola Hailemariam has been appointed as Chief of the Ground Force.

The Prime Minister also appointed Demelash Gebremichael as Director General of NISS.
