Horndiplomat-Waddani Party Chairman Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro Meets with UK Ambassador to Somalia Benfendor in Hargeisa on Monday.
During the meeting, Waddani leader and UK Ambassador discussed the issues related to elections and violation of basic principles of constitutional rights and arrest of MP Dhakool.
“It was a pleasure having a fruitful meeting with UK Amb to Somalia/ Somaliland Ben Fender in Hargeisa. We have discussed issues related to elections and violation of basic principles of constitutional rights such as the unlawful arrest of MP with immunity.”Said Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi chairman of Somaliland Main opposition party said in a Twitter post late on Monday.
He Added
“and also the illegal detention of our Youth Chairman, government’s failed attempt of state of emergency and other human rights violations issues. All of these derailing hardly-won political progress and deteriorating stability of Somaliland.”
The meeting was also attended by the head of the UK office in Hargeisa, Stuart Brown and Waddani Leader Hersi Ali Haji Hassan and transitional Chairman Abdiqadir Ismail Jirde.
The UK Ambassador to Somalia Ben Fender has arrived in Hargeisa in his first official working visit to Somaliland on Monday.
