Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi has announced that his country is ready to resume talks with Somalia
Horndiplomat-Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi has announced that his country is ready to resume talks with Somalia rivals after the talk was suspended for quite sometime.
Somaliland President has made the remarks after holding a meeting with Somaliland diaspora community in the UAE.

President Bihi said that the dialogue will be mediated by the US, UK,Sweden, EU and Turkey.
“The first face to face meeting will formally open in Accra, the Ghanaian capital, If Somalia Accept.”Said President Muse Bihi
According to Radio Dalsan The Federal government of Somalia agrees (in principle) the meeting to take place but there is substantial discussion remaining on format, venue, and role of 3rd parties.
On December 2018,The Turkey Government has appointed Dr. Olgan Bekar, former Turkey Ambassador a to Somalia as Turkey’s new Special Envoy to Somalia and Somaliland talks.
The talks began in 2012 when the London Conference on Somalia, held at Lancaster House on February resulted in a communiqué. Pre-talks communique emphasised “the need for the international community to support any dialogue that Somaliland and Somalia’ .
The Somaliland-Somalia hit a deadlock several times over technical issues. Both Somalia and Somaliland governments are keen to resume talks.
