Ethiopia, China Vow to Advance Bilateral & Multilateral Cooperation
Ethiopia and the People’s Republic of China have agreed to further bolster their cooperation in bilateral, continental and international issues of mutual concern.
This has been emphasized this morning (February 9), during a meeting between Ethiopian Minister of Foreign Affairs,  Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu and Assistant Minister of Foreign affairs of the People’s Republic of China and Chairman of the Chinese Follow-up Committee of FOCAC, Mr. Chen Xiaodong.
Both sides have underlined the fact that relations between Ethiopia and China have stood the taste of time.
Minister Workneh commended the age-old relations Ethiopia and China enjoyed that has gradually ascended into a strong win-win situation. He said, “We appreciate China for pursuing consistent and stable foreign policy that has been dependable and practical for our peoples.”

Foreign Minister Dr. Workneh stressed that the ties between Ethiopia and China are built on concrete foundations, adding “We’re in full gear to work more closely with China in bilateral, regional and continental as well as international issues”.
Mr. Chen Xiadong on his part said, “Ethiopia is one of the most important and strategic partners of China; and we are keen to take the relationship to a new
level.”
Minister Workneh took the opportunity to thank the Government of the Peoples Republic of China for its endeavor to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Ethiopia and its sheer commitment to safeguard common interests of both sides in regional and international venues.
