Somaliland President receives Ethiopia New Consul general Amb Shemsudin Ahmed

Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi received Ethiopia New Consul general Amb Shemsudin Ahmed at Presidential Palace in Hargeisa.

During the meeting, President Bihi and Amb Shemsudin Ahmed discussed a wide range of issues pertaining to the co-operation and Historical ties between the Republic of Somaliland and the federal republic of Ethiopia in the field of development, trade, co-operation and security in the Horn of Africa.

Last month, Ethiopia has appointed Ambassador Shamsudin Ahmed Roble as the new Consul General to Somaliland several weeks after Ethiopia recalled its consul in Somaliland as a part of restructuring Ethiopia foreign ministry.

The Ethiopian New Consul general Amb Shemsudin Ahmed also met Somaliland foreign minister Yasin Mohamoud Hiir at Somaliland foreign ministry on Monday.

Shamsudin served as Deputy-Minister of Mining and Energy of Ethiopia since August 1991 to December 1997, Ethiopian Ambassador to Djibouti since May 2002 to May 2011 and also Ambassador of Ethiopia to Kenya from May 2011 to December 2014.
