Horndiplomat-The Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr Workneh Gebeyehu received a US trade delegation led by Gilbert B. Kaplan, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce, at his office earlier this morning (June 25).
Reiterating the fact that, Ethiopia and the US have enjoyed longstanding and historical relations on the political and diplomatic fronts, Dr. Workneh noted that the best practices in those areas should be replicated as well in the trade and investment areas.
Dr. Workneh also expressed Ethiopia’s keen interest in seeking US assistance in the education and training of skilled labor force geared towards the realization of Ethiopia’s developmental aspirations.
Undersecretary Kaplan with his entourage of scores of US companies, on his part, expressed the interest and readiness of the many US companies to expedite the untapped trade and investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
Mr. Kaplan, also commended Ethiopia’s incessant efforts to modernize and transform its political-economy.
