Horndiplomat-Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi receives British delegation led by Head of British Department of Foreign and International Development (DFID) Dr.Phil Evans accompanied by Head of the British Office in Hargeisa Rosie Tapper at Presidential Palace.

The meeting between Somaliland president and Head of British Department of Foreign and International Development (DFID) ,discussed on the issues related the assistance of the victims of cyclone Sagar hit on Somaliland coastal regions, the upcoming parliamentary and council elections, improving agriculture and livestock farming, catalyzing economic development activities, completion of the country constitution and creating jobs for the Somaliland youths.

Phil Evans head of Department of Foreign and International Development (DFID) said they’re ready to work with Somaliland to help the cyclone Sagar disaster victims at the coastal regions, He also confirmed that DFID will continue to support Somaliland democratization process particularly the 2019 slated parliamentary and council elections.

The president of Somaliland accompanied by vice president Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismael (Sayli’i), minister of foreign affairs Dr.Sa’ad Ali Shire and minister of energy and mineral resources Mr.Jama Mohammud Egal.

Somaliland declared its independence nearly three decades ago from Somalia, but despite having its own currency, parliament, military and legal system The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
