Somaliland President Meets with Denmark Delegation

On 15TH February, The President of Somaliland Receives Danish delegation led by Amb.Mette Knudsen  Denmark Ambassador to Kenya, Somalia, Eritrea and Seychelles accompanied by Anne Elisabeth DANIDA  Head of Office in Somaliland.

The meeting discussed on drought, parliamentary and local council election, boosting the friendly relations between the two countries, and the resumption of the talks between Somalia-Somaliland.

The Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi has condoled the Danish government over the death of the husband of the queen of Denmark Prince Henrik.

President bihi praised Ambassador Mette for her visit in Somaliland and Expressed thanks the Denmark government role of  Somaliland Development Fund and Bilateral ties the between two Countries.

President Bihi Meets with France Delegation

On 15th February 2018, Somaliland president Muse Bihi Abdi accompanied by vice President Abdurahman Abdullahi Ismail ( Zayli ) and Foreign Minister Dr. Saad Ali Shire receives French delegation led by France ambassador to Somalia Amb. Antoine Sivan.

The President appreciated the delegation for their visit to Somaliland and welcomed as to feel like home. After a long discussion between both sides the President addressed the country’s situation in general and peace, development and democratisation process in specific. The President shared Somaliland history and underlined that Somaliland independence is not negotiable.

Somaliland President Receives IGAD Delegation 

On 17th February, The President of the Republic of Somaliland  Muse Bihi Abdi received in his office IGAD delegation led by IGAD Special Envoy for Somaliland and Somalia Amb. Maxamed Guyo and IGAD Political Consultant Abdulkarim Maxamed.

The President was accompanied by the Vice President Abdurahman Abdullahi Ismail, Foreign Minister. Dr. Saad Ali Shire, Somaliland Representative to Ethiopia Ali Salan Jirde and Somaliland Ambassador in African Union Adan Muse Jibril.

The meeting focused on security issues in the region, the President mentioned that Somaliland is not a threat to the region instead it provides stability. The meeting also underlined that IGAD will support development projects using the the NDP2 as a guideline which covers the upcoming 5 years in Somaliland. The delegation was very pleased with the President’s warm welcome and guaranteed to enhance the cooperation and support to Somaliland.
