Horndiplomat-Yesterday’s The National Electoral Commission (NEC) had made the long awaited announcement of the official result of the Presidential that took place in the Republic of Somaliland on the 13th of November. The announced President and Vice President Elect are Kulmiye’s candidates Muse Behi Abdi and Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Zeylici).
The president of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has congratulated the new president-elect of Somaliland H.E Muse Bihi Abdi on his election.
In a statement released on Tuesday, President Farmajo expressed his optimism and belief in Somaliland’s new leadership.
“Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdilahi Mohamed Farmajo has praised the people, the political parties, law enforcement agencies and the contenders for holding peaceful, free and fair elections in Somaliland. The president has said that Somaliland election elevated Somali’s image around the globe. The President has assured to working with the new leader of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi to resume the stalled talks between Somalia and Somaliland.’Press Statement
