The visit was the first of its kind, aimed at lifting morale of Kenyan troops, though uhuru has been to the Somali capital Mogadishu previously on other state engagements. Uhuru told the soldiers that their being in the Somalia mission had saved many lives that would have been lost to the Al Shabaab terror group. The Dhobley military camp is the headquarters of the Amisom, a nerve center and a log base for the UN.
