Veteran BBC Somali Broadcaster Osman Sugulle passes away in London
Former BBC Somali Service broadcaster, Osman Sugulle, passed away in London this week. Sugule joined the Somali Service early sixties. “He  was a friendly journalist with a sense of humour.
“I have known him for a long time” said Mohamud Hassan, who worked with Sugule at the Somali Service. “He joined the Foreign Office before retirement in London” Hassan said. Sugule featured in programme reminiscences presented in 1988 by Dr Mohamed Rashid.
In the selected clip of a 1960s programme, Sugule presented a brief introduction on Jupiter. It was the time Somali language had been unwritten. Sugule used a clear language to make chemical properties of the celestial body understandable to listeners.
