Somaliland Condemns Puntland President's visit to Badhan

Horndiplomat-The President of Puntland State of Somalia Abdiweli Mohamed Ali (Gaas) visited Wednesday in Badhan Sanaag region of Somaliland for the first time since when he becomes Somalia’s region of Puntland president.

Badhan, about 90 kilometers east of Erigavo, the capital of the largest region of Somaliland, Sanaag,

The government and opposition of Somaliland condemned with the strongest words possible the interferences of Somaliland internal affairs by the president of the Somalia region of Puntland Mr. Abdiweli Gaas.

Somaliland vice president Abdirahman Abdullahi Ismael (Sayli’i) and the two opposition Chairmen, Eng Faisal Ali Hussein (Ucid Chairman) and Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Waddani Chairman)  held a joint news conference in Hargeisa whereby they warned the warmonger president to stay away from Somaliland borders.

Meanwhile, Somaliland opposition parties condemned Puntland’s president visit to Badhan of Sanaag region of Somaliland.

“Somaliland will not accept the eastern Sanaag region of Somaliland to become a battleground, Somaliland is one nation, politically or Military we’re ready to defend in our Territory.”Said Eng Faisal Ali Warabe

Somaliland declared its independence nearly three decades ago from Somalia, but despite having its own currency, parliament, military and legal system The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
