Ethiopia’s year-on-year inflation falls to 14% in July

Addis Ababa, August 2, 2018 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s year-on-year inflation fell to 14 percent in July 2018, from 14.7 percent in June, according to the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia (CSA).

The prices of bread, meat, milk, cheese and eggs, butter and sugar, honey and chocolate showed a slight decline during the month, it said in a statement sent to FBC today.

However, the prices of cereals, fruits and vegetables and spices increased as compared to last month, the statement noted.

“Generally, the rate of price increase has been stabilized in the current month as compared to the previous months,” it stated.
