Horndiplomat-On Saturday, the United Nations Deputy Special Representative for Somalia Raisedon Zenenga and IGAD Special Envoy Mohamed Ali Guyo visited in Garowe The capital of Somalia’s semiautonomous region of Puntland.
The delegation as part of ongoing efforts to find peaceful solutions to Fighting between Somaliland and Puntland in Tukaraq, The delegation met with Puntland’s President Abdiweli Ali Gaas and Vice-president Abdihakim Abdullahi Haji Omar.

The Puntland president and the international community delegation discussed on the issues related to the peaceful resolution in Tukaraq, cessation of hostilities, impeded humanitarian access and Exchange of prisoners, Close sources from Garowe revealed the sides agreed all points to discuss in the meeting.
On the other hand, The delegation arrives in Somaliland on Sunday and meets with Somaliland Parliamentary members, Opposition parties, civil society and leaders from Sool region, Somaliland’s foreign minister Dr Saad Ali Shire discussed on views on a peaceful and lasting solution to the Tukaraq conflict.
Today’s The president of Somaliland Muse Bihi Abdi receives The UN and IGAD delegation at the presidential palace, After the meeting, the Somaliland Minister of foreign affairs and the delegation members told the media and exposed the main points were discussed at President meeting.

“The President and the delegation will discuss issues related to the relationship between the two sides, The resolution in Tukaraq, cessation of hostilities impeded humanitarian access, Exchange of prisoners, the sides agreed on all points to discuss in the meeting.”Said Somaliland Foreign Minister Dr Saad Ali Shire
“We come to Somaliland to seek a resolution to the conflict in Tukaraq, we met the president H.E Muse Bihi, we’ve had a very good discussion based on a number of points cessation of hostilities and impeded humanitarian access, Exchange of prisoners, immediately commence of dialogue to resolve all these issues, and above all for purpose of confidence- building thank.”said the IGAD Special Envoy Mohamed Ali Guyo
” In efforts between IGAD and united nations to try and advance the efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict Tukaraq, We’ve has very good meetings over the past two days starting with the two houses of the parliament, the minister of foreign affairs, civil society and today finally with the president our discussion focused on the four points that both the Honorable minister and my colleague the special envoy of IGAD have set out and we have agreed that we will come back to continue discussions on how to take forward the elaboration of these points we are also engaging Puntland and we are in discussion also with the federal government of Somalia on how we can all find the peaceful solution to the conflict into the Tukaraq” Said the United Nations Deputy Special Representative for Somalia Raisedon Zenenga .
