Somaliland government released two journalists Mohamed Bidhanshe and Abdirahman Tungub that was arrested on Tuesday

Horndiplomat- Somaliland government released two journalists Mohamed Bidhanshe and Abdirahman Tungub that was arrested on Tuesday while covering a protest march in Las Anod, Sool region in southeastern Somaliland.

Somaliland Journalist Association SOLJA confirmed Horndiplomat that they’re managed and negotiated with the Sool regional officials the release of the journalists.

“Two Journalists Mohamed Bidhanshe and Abdirahman Tungub were both released today from Laascanod police station after Solja managed & negotiated with the Sool regional officials.”Said Yahye Mohamed Xanas Executive Director, Somaliland Journalists Association SOLJA.

Somaliland declared its independence nearly three decades ago from Somalia, but despite having its own currency, parliament, military and legal system The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
