Breaking Somaliland Government Blames Puntland of attacking Somaliland territory

Horndiplomat-Somaliland Minister of Information Abdirahman Abdillahi Farah (Guri-Barwaqo) told the government news agency SOLNA, alleged Somalia’s semiautonomous region Puntland early on Thursday launched an attack on Somaliland troops in Frontline.

The Somaliland government spokesman Mr Abdirahman Guribarwaqo blames the semiautonomous region of Somalia Puntland their aggression of Somaliland Territory in Month of Ramadan.

“Around 6 am in this morning the armed militia of Somalia leader Farmajo tried to attack Somaliland military personnel at the border town of Tukaraq. It is disgusting to state a Muslim country attacking another Muslim country at such a time ‘the month of Ramadan’. Worse still they have caused death on both sides and maimed others. Said Somaliland Information minister told Somaliland News Agency

Somaliland Minister of Information also commented the Semiautonomous of Somalia Puntland their wanted to take advantage of the cyclone disaster that has hit three regions of Somaliland.

“These all happened because Somalia sponsored Puntland administration wanted to take advantage of the cyclone disaster that has hit three Somaliland regions Selel, Awdal and Sahil that has left the Somaliland government and her citizens occupied with the assistance of the affected victims to initiate a three fronts attack Somaliland armed forces.”

Both sides are not reported the casualties including deaths or Injuries, but The Somaliland information Minister Guri-barwaqo confirmed that Puntland forces were heavily defeated from all the three directions they tried to infiltrate Somaliland sovereign border by the bold and vigilant Somaliland army units based at Tukaraq.

On may 15, The fighting between Somaliland and Puntland erupted outside the village of Tukaraq. at that time Somaliland government accused Puntland of attacking their positions.

Meanwhile, the Somaliland government send an appeal to the International community said Statement by Somaliland information Ministry

“Our appeal to AfricanUnion, Igad, United Nations, Arab League and other peace-loving countries is that Somaliland loves the continuation of peace & coexistence, but we will have zero tolerance to Somalia’s aggression against our sovereignty” -Said Statement.

Somaliland declared its independence nearly three decades ago from Somalia, but despite having its own currency, parliament, military and legal system The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the Horn of Africa.
